Rotate the number ring every few sessions so the same beds do not take every dart. Keep the board dry: sisal swells if it gets damp, and a damp board never quite recovers its shape.

About this product
Tournament size, sisal, and six darts in the box.
A 45.72 cm bristle board with a staple free bullseye, a movable number ring and two sets of steel tip darts. Mounting hardware and a throw line are included.
A full size board for the garage, the games room or the shed.
It is 45.72 cm across and 3.81 cm thick, which is the size used in competition, so the throw line and the height you set it at are the standard ones.
The surface is compressed sisal. A steel tip parts the fibres rather than cutting them, and the fibres close again when you pull the dart out, so the board takes thousands of throws before it starts to look tired.
The bullseye has no staple across it, which is where most bounce outs come from on cheaper boards, and the number ring lifts off and turns so you can move the wear around.
Six steel tip darts, mounting hardware, a throw line and a measuring tape are in the box.

Why sisal, and why it matters more than the price
A bristle board is not made of bristles. It is made of sisal, a stiff natural fibre from the
agave plant, cut into short lengths and compressed on end so the surface you throw at is millions
of fibre ends packed together. A steel point pushes between the fibres instead of cutting through
them. Pull the dart out and the fibres close again.
That is the whole reason a sisal board lasts. Paper and cork boards tear, and the holes stay.
Sisal does not tear, so the board wears evenly rather than developing craters in the treble
twenty.
Bounce outs are usually the wiring, not you
Most bounce outs happen when a dart lands on a wire rather than in a bed. Two things reduce
them. Thin, rounded wire gives the point somewhere to slide, and a bullseye with no staple across
it removes the single hardest thing on the board to hit cleanly. This board has both.
Set it up at the right height and distance
The centre of the bullseye sits 1.73 m from the floor. The throw line is 2.37 m from the face
of the board, measured along the floor. Those two numbers are what make a board feel right, and
they are worth measuring rather than guessing: a board hung too high changes your whole action.
The throw line and measuring tape in the box are there for exactly this. Mark the line with
tape before you drill anything.
Rotate the ring, and keep it dry
Almost everybody throws at the twenty. Over a season that segment takes more darts than the
rest of the board put together. Lift the number ring, turn it, and the twenty is now over fresh
sisal. Do that every few weeks and the board lasts years instead of months.
The one thing sisal genuinely does not like is damp. A garage that gets wet in winter will
swell the fibres, and a swollen board never fully goes back. If the space is damp, hang the board
on an inside wall.
Steel tip or soft tip
This board takes both. Steel tip is the traditional game and what the six included darts are.
Soft tip darts have plastic points and are usually thrown at electronic boards, but they will sit
in sisal too, which is useful if children are playing.
If children are throwing steel tips, the magnetic board in this range is the safer answer.
